Alto Tower, Altoona, Pennsylvania
Although Tim Garner shot this color slide in the early Conrail era, this unique building retains much of its PRR look. The operator's job is to control the addition of pushers for trains on their way over the Alleghenies and past Horseshoe Curve. It was one of the only manned towers left between Harrisburgh and Pittsburgh.
