Broad Street Station Postcard
The original station opened on December 5, 1881. In November 1893, the PRR finished more than doubling the size of the station to the arrangement seen here. There are no motor vehicles in sight. The massive train shed burned on June 11, 1923 and was replaced by umbrella sheds on each platform. Broad Street Station closed April 27, 1952. This postcard was printed in Germany for H.C. Leighton Co. of Portland, Me. This copy was never mailed.
