USO Lounges Postcard
The USO is an organization dedicated to the aid and comfort of American servicemen. This postcard from World War II talks about their efforts at PRR stations. It reads, "TO MAKE SERVICE MEN COMFORTABLE while on the move, attractive Lounges and Special Facilities are maintained in Stations in a number of cities served by the Pennsylvania Railroad. They are operated and staffed by the USO, the Travelers' Aid, and local patriotic organizations, including the Women's Aid of the Pennsylvania Railroad." This postcard was sent home to Norfolk, Mass. by PVT R.L. Bremilest from Penn Station, N.Y. on March 20, 1946 on his way to North Carolina.
