Lemo Tower, Lemoyne, Pennsylvania
Tim shot this image on March 11, 1978, almost two years after the start of Conrail. The tower was still active. The operator's desk is to the right in the bay window. In the foreground are a drinking fountain and the electric interlocker. On the desk are sevaral radios and microphones. They connect to crews on various lines around the tower. The ever-present train sheet is also visible where the operator records all trian movements. Barely visible outside the bay window is a thermometer. In 1983 the tower was moved to the Strasburg Railroad and preserved.
